چکیده
Abstract Inferior vena cava leiomyosarcoma (IVCL) is a rare malignant mesenchymal tumor. Surgical treatment challenge because it must combine free surgical margins with vascular reconstruction, using prosthetic or autologous grafts, primary suture, simple ligation without vein reconstruction. The option possible thanks to the slow growth of tumor, allowing collateral venous circulation develop. We present case an IVCL treated radical resection patient was 48-year-old female abdominal pain in right upper quadrant, asthenia, and postprandial dyspeptic symptoms. Abdominal tomography revealed mass expansive formation located infrahepatic segment inferior reduced vessel lumen. During surgery, clamping did not provoke hemodynamic repercussions, suggesting sufficient formation. It decided perform entire portion retrohepatic ligate recovered complications.

Leiomyosarcoma of the vena cava is a rare malignant tumor. A 61-year-old woman was admitted with right upper quadrant abdominal pain. Computed tomography revealed a retrohepatic vena cava tumor originating 2 cm below the confluence of the hepaic veins and ending 2 cm above the renal veins. The tumor was resected with 1 cm clear surgical margins, without requiring liver resection. Polytetrafluor...

Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) of inferior vena cava is a rare and aggressive tumor, arising from the smooth muscle cells in the vessel wall. A large complete surgical resection is the essential treatment. The need of vascular reconstruction is not always mandatory. It's above all to understand the place of the reconstruction with artificial vascular patch prosthetics of vena cave after a large resection...
متن کاملLeiomyosarcoma of the Inferior Vena Cava - Radical Resection, Vascular Reconstruction and Challenges: A Case Report and Review of Relevant Literature
Leiomyosarcomas of the inferior Vena Cava (IVC) are rare soft tissue sarcomas accounting for only 0.5% of all soft tissue sarcomas in adults with fewer than 300 cases reported. Extraluminal tumor growth along the adventitia of the IVC seems to be the common presentation. Intraluminal tumor growth is rare. The origin of the tumor is divided into three levels in relation to the hepatic and renal ...

Sarcomas are mesenchymal tumors that affect the retroperitoneum in 15% of cases. 28% of sarcomas originate in smooth-muscle cells, and are called leiomyosarcomas; 2% of which are vascular in origin. There are currently close to 300 published cases of retroperitoneal leiomyosarcomas that are vascular in origin; most of these arise from the middle segment of the inferior vena cava and are usually...

Leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava is a rare soft tissue sarcoma presenting with vague abdominal pain. Complete surgical resection with clear surgical margin plays a central therapeutic role. The effect of chemotherapy and radiation therapy is controversial. We reported a female patient with invasion both renal veins by this disease. It was surgically excised and replaced with graft and right...
